Whispers From Wanganui
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Wanganui Rep.) T IMITED is well named.. ■ His brilliancy is undoubted, but very limited. * ♦ • Cashier won the Rangltikel Cup like a good three-year-old. His trainer expected the son of Paper Money to score, as he had shown improvement m his work. •« • • Cashier and High Falutin' are both engaged m the Great Northern St. Leger. The better of the pair will be very hard to beat. • ♦ • The Warden will be worth watching at Trentham. He has shown he can gallop for a mile and should run out the St. Leger distance. # * * W. Rayner will' have only Alloy and L/ysander to represent him at Trentham. The former is an improving sort and his turn will come sooner or later. * .' • * By Thespian, out of Bronze, Alloy can hardly fail to make good. It may not be until next season. # # • Lysander would have something like a mortgage on, the Thompson Handicap if he could, be depended upon to run generously. • * • Ceremony is going along nicely, but will not be seen out at Trentham. He is being kept for the Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes, and is likely to show that he is one of the most brilliant of his age m the land. # # # Freehold must have a good chance m the Railway Handicap at Trentham on Saturday. * * * Ruanui is capable of running a mile at a fast pace. He should be seen at his best on the Trentham course. ' * * * • Star Area takes some time to find. his legs, and this may tell against him m a race like the Thompson Handicap. Some think the son of Acre is not class enough for the company he will meet but if he is well plaaed m the early stages, Star Area will trouble the best of them. • * * Bright Glow is m both the Thompson, Handicap and the Challenge Stakes. If she has any chance m the weight-for-age event she must have even better prospects m the Thompson. # * • Those who have seen Reremoana galloping oh the tracks recently, .d.eclare that the son of Hallowmas is going surprisingly well and will carry a lot of Taranaki money m the Challenge Stakes. # # • Naselle carried the confidence of her connections m the Maiden at Bulls on Thursday last. The four-year-old daughter of Nassau was beaten a head by another Marton-tralned one m Snowshoe. • >• • Snowshoe, a three-year-old filly by Kilbroney, and trained by J. Morris, promises to pay her way. #' # # Airtight . ran about at his fences both days at Bulls. Otherwise he would have won one or both races. * * * The racing Elysianor had at Bulls will have done him good. He should be ready to show up m some of the jumping events later on, • # "• Airtight will need to jump better at Opunake than he did at Bulls to have a chance with Vivo and Royal Acre.
