As a matter of fact, it would not have been surprising had the favorite's horseman been admonished for coming over dangerously close to win by a neck. Macroom failed to keep a straight course and lost place-money by-swerv-ing towards the outer. The Begum's victory made four wins out of her last five starts, and with her and , 'Supremacy, Owner A. J. McGovern is experiencing a particularly rosy time this season.
