IN THE WAYS OF PROGRESS
THE road to distinction often ' is a crazy causeway, littered with the rubble of discarded, enterprise, cluttered with minor elements of humanity whose puny ,scratchings,\ iI Idirected for the most part, add to the discard. But there is ever the exception, the b r i g h t c r light whose effulgence shows the narrow way between the heaped-up nonentity ..packs along the highway. Every characteristic of John Wil-
liam Mac Donald, Public Trustee, arid prominent as .an executive m many qther organisations. as well, is a unit m the example of what may be accomplished by unremitting, pursuit of the gleam. His merit as a national director has at length achieved recognition, and, it was with pleasure that one heard the news of his distant investiture as a C.M.G. cabled from the:Ol.d. Country. ' Congratulations. The honor is' we|ldeserved.
