PROPER WAY
How To Jack Up A Gar
Many, drivers go the wrong way .about -- removing a wheel when changing after a puncture. Several cars have been damaged by falling off the jack, owing to the irate owner jerking at the nuts m trying to loosen the wheel, THESE 'nuts should be given the ■ first turn while the wheel is still on the ground, and not until then should the jack be brought into use. The best and easiest way to loosen a stubborn wheel nut is to place the brace-wrench on the nut m such a position that the handle part is horizontal. The top is held m one hand and a sudden kick downwards with the ■ foot. will start the most hardened thread. . Wheel nuts should be greased if at all possible when they are being replaced. A little lubricant enables the wheel to be completely tightened and make subsequent removal an easy matter. By the way, m replacing a wheel, tighten opposite nuts m order until all have been brought up firmly. Then go over them again m the same order and force them hard up to the lugs.
