EASILY FIXED
The Slipping Dry Clutch
When slipping occurs with a dry plate or cone clutch, the cause is usually that oil or grease has become, deposited ,on the surface of the plates or the Cone. THE remedy is simple. The cover plate should be removed, and with the clutch pedal pushed right-down, kerosene squirted between .the gripping surfaces. The engine should then .be started, and kerosene squirted m again while the pedal is pushed m and out a dozen or twenty times. The final process is to repeat the dose with petrol. This cuts away all the kerosene and any remaining oil or grease and leaves the clutch m its proper- state of Cleanliness. . If no kerosene is available, the job can be carried out entirely with petrol, but it is slightly less efficient, as it does not get so deep into the fabric. WHEN greasing the car use light oil freely on all accelerator parts: Serious accidents have occurred due to the . 'accelerator sticking ;. m .open position ata critical moment.
