TRAGIC END OF MANAGER

(From "N.Z. Truth. V Special CliristcliiirchTlepresentatiYe) A MILD sensation was created m commercial circles m Christchurch a few days ago, when the body of Reginald Clifford Bartram was found one evening m the cloakroom of Distributors, Utd. Bartram, a young man aged thirty-seven years, was Christchurch branch manager for the firm, and was a popular figure m Christchurch. John Richard Dench, managing director of the firm, visited the offices one evening and found Bartram's. body lying on the floor of the cloakroom, and close; to a gas ring. Four notes were left by Bartram indicating that he. was very depressed and that he intended taking his life. No reason was advanced at the inquest that would throw any light on Bartram's fateful decision to take his own life, and a verdict of death from gas-poisoning while m a state of mental worry was returned. -y: v
