AIR COOLING COMING
Encouragement From British War Office TYPE MAY BEJJSED BY ARMY The encouragement extended by the British War Office to the production of air-cooled engines has given considerable impetus to experiments with that type of machine. The success of the air-cooled engine m the confined .atmosphere of the tanks has proved an almost startling surprise, and has shown beyond argument that the air-cooled unit is dependable under every variety of climatic condition. Climbing steep hills m low gear does not affect an air-cooled engine at all, even m a warm climate. When it comes to a very cold climate the air-cooled machine has the very important advantage that there is no radiator to freeze and burst, nor water

It is interesting to note that plans were once formulated for the production of an air-cooled Chevrolet, but for some reason not made public the scheme was not proceeded with. There is good ground for believing, however, that before the year is out, air cooling will be much more to the front than it is now, and that it is only ' a matter of two or three years before "air-cooled cars will be made by mass i production methods.
