A MINOR fault with some of the " electrical equipments m use is that the needle of the ammeter sometimes swings right off the scale and "sticks" — that is, it does not return to zero. This denotes a slight defect m the instrument, and one that, striotly, ought not to occur; but if it should do, all that need be done is to give the .glass front of the instrument a few sharp taps with the tips of the fingers, when the needle will swing. back to zero. On no account should the instrument be taken off the switchboard.
