"THE world owes 1 much to its medical men, biit it is only on those occasions when, m conference, that any inkling of the great work they are doing is forced upon the public mind. , Dr. J. S. Elliott, recently presidentelect of the New Zealand, branch of the British Medical Association at the annual conference m Wellington has done, . and is doing, great work. The induction of Dr. J. S. Elliott at the inaugural ceremony was an inspiring one. But the presidential ad-
dress by the doctor will provide an epic m medical history — a milestone m the march of medical science. He dealt comprehensively with the great strides his profession had made during the past few decados m the amelioration of humanity's ailments, but .the Golden Age, • he said, was not, behind., but ahead. New Zealand is justly proud of its medical men, but to Wellington goes the ' honor of possessing Dr. ElIi o 1 1, the new B.M.A. president m this country.
