Nanette, .Maha, Galatea, Windward, and Shamrock were the boats concerned and they re-ceived-a. real battering. Windward snapped a mast m the heavy storm on the return journey and Shamrock towed her back to Port Underwood. Altogether it was an unenviable experience for the yachtsmen. The race, of course, was' abandoned.
