"THE five yachts which contested the ocean > going race from Wellington to Port Underwood and back during the week-and bargained not for the wrath of the element's!... Nanette, .Maha, Galatea, Windward, and Shamrock were the boats concerned and they re-ceived-a. real battering. Windward snapped a mast m the heavy storm on the return journey and Shamrock towed her back to Port Underwood. Altogether it was an unenviable experience for the yachtsmen. The race, of course, was' abandoned.
