LUCK HER WAY
Once Again Polyxena Has Breeze (Prom "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.) If Jamieson was unlucky m losing Prince Humphrey he has been lucky m races with Polyxena. AT Takapuna when Polyxena scraped home from Royal Finance it was only because the latter did not hop away from the barrier on even terms. Again at. Te. Aroha on opening: day luck was with Polyxena, for, from a straggling start, she was almost on the move as the signal was given. Then again m the run home she was being dangerously threatened by a late run on the outer from Gay Duke, when Love Call swerved out and interfered with "The Duke." . v ' To such an extent was the interference that Polyxena was already home before Gay Duke could get going again, quick enough to reach better than third place. In short, Gay Duke, a Lord Quex-Salvette gelding, was a good thing beaten that particular day. He is one of Mick Carroll's two-year-olds, and with a bit of seasoning bids fair to gather m ..some stake money.
