Then again m the run home she was being dangerously threatened by a late run on the outer from Gay Duke, when Love Call swerved out and interfered with "The Duke." . v ' To such an extent was the interference that Polyxena was already home before Gay Duke could get going again, quick enough to reach better than third place. In short, Gay Duke, a Lord Quex-Salvette gelding, was a good thing beaten that particular day. He is one of Mick Carroll's two-year-olds, and with a bit of seasoning bids fair to gather m ..some stake money.
