NO LOAFING WITH THEM
Sparkling Ten -round Bout Ends In Draw
Old friends and opponents are Jim Broadfoot and Olarrie Pocock, and at Te Aroha they were introduced to one another again.
"TWICE previously had the pair met, 1 and the advantage was with Broadfoot, who has a decision m his favor. The other mill ended m a draw. There was two pounds m favor of Broadfoot, who weighed m at 11.6, but that was nothing to worry about. llig-ht.from the initial gong the pair went to it, boxing at great speed at long range, while, m close, the pair belabored each other. Not for long, however, would they keep together and the referee had quite an easy task throughout. The fortunes of war fluctuated as each' round went by, but never at any stage did one get a decided advantage.
It was even going all the way, and the crowd were appreciating it. After the sixth there was a bit of a slackening up, but only for a couple of sessions. Then they went off at it again, with Pocock trying to part Boardfoofs head from his body and Broadfoot doing his darndest to cleave Pocock m two at his midsection. The last round was a dazzler, and m losing it Pocock also lost the big end of the money. I Dick Meale raised both hands, indicating a dead heat, and everybody went home happy. Everything has, been m order — a good fight by two good boys and a good decision by a good referee.
