Happy Days
TT is with no little feeling of sincere I congratulation that New Zealand joins with its . Hebrew citizens m wishing the , Rev. Van Staveren. a goodly number of many happy returns. Eighty years have passed over the head of the venerable Rabbi, but what is time? As long- as the mind is fresh and young, the speeding years mean but little. The -Rev- Van Staveren, who is as well-known m Wellington as Lambton Quay, has mastered the art of giving his time without a murmur. Not only does he interest himself m his faith and m his floek — he is too big hearted for that— but m the affairs of the town his word is listened to because he has the knack of backing up his opinions with logic. In short, the good Rabbi is of tnat ciass of men who when they seek their rest at night can honestly say, "This day has not been wasted."
