Germany Now Adopts
Them

MO fewer than six of Germany's best cars have adopted what is known as the Maybach device, which is a constant mesh auxiliary gear placed m the transmission line behind the ordinary gear box. Unlike the Graham-Paige device, the Maybach system transforms a threegeared car into a six-geared machine, and a four into an eight. - Its primary use, however, is to give an extra and higher top gear, for use under ordinary favorable conditions of running:.
