EGG AND POTATO PIE , Take some mashed potato, chopped parsely and one ■or two hard-boiled eggs. • Chop the eggs finely, add pepper and salt to taste, put into a pie-dish and brown in' oven. CURRIED LENTILS Soak half a cupful of. lentils all night, and then boil them until they are tender. Add a small piece of butter and ■thicken with curry powder and flour, h Serve with boiled rice. SODA CAKE 3oz. butter %lb. flour,. 1- teacup <*ach of milk, raisins, currants, sugar, 1 dessertspoon vinegar, % teaspoon soda, i % teaspoon ground cloves, Vz teaspoon \ ground nutmeg. Mix to a rather stiff t consistency and bake about 1 hour. ' s SPICED APPLES '.■■•; ■"-" ~~"— ; . ■ . . -.-•.€ Take 10 apples, 1% cups sugar, % t pint vinegar, 2 small sticks cinnamon i and some cloves. Boil the vinegar, sugar and cinnamon for 7 minutes in-^ an enamelled saucepan. Peel and core c the apples and cut into eighths, stick J a clove m each section.
