NOW that the smoke and din of battle has died away, it is possible to take a survey of the field. Some trusty warriors are numbered amongst the slain and some have retained their titles with honor. ' Collective honors go to "Dolf." Kitto's Wellington Club battalion, which has added another victory to a long and illustrious record. The outstanding performance at the meeting goes to the account of a Gisborne runner, C. G. Donald, m the half-mile event, when the watches said lmin. 58 3/5 sec. . McDonald ran a nicely-timed race and finished with a splendid and determined sprint to gain victory over that promising young 'Wellington runner, W. Ogg. R. Leech, was the University white hope, but he, seemed to be woefully short of training and had to be satisfied with third place. Ex-N.Z. champion Colin Campbell rah from the front, as. usual, but. found himself, just minus the stamina to fight out a finish, ■ . / .• . . - . Father. Time: is taking his toll there.
