NEW FACES
Cantab Gricket Eleven f NOT DRASTIC (From "N.Z. Truth's" Ghristchurch Rep.) The Canterbury selectors were not very drastic in 1 the changes they effected m the provincial side for the last Plunket S.hield match of .the season ' against Otago." DEAD, Gregory and Jacobs have been •* dropped to make room for C. M. Harris (Old Boys), P. Allen (Riccarton) and J. /McEwin(Sydenham), while Bill Patrick has gone m again to lead the side through "Curly" Page not being available. Cox was m the Canterbury side from 1924 until the season before last, and has played himself back again -with his ■ consistent form for Riccarton. Two centuries have come his way this season. ■ •.; .••■'„■■ r Harjr.is has not done much with the bat this year except "one century made a fortnight ago for Old Boys. , Allen, the young Riccarton wicket- ! keeper, has been so outstandingly good for his club that he now opens for them, and when It comes to keeping the sticks he is not many removes behind Burns, who will again have charge of them at Dunedin. Jim* McEwin has played m only three matches this season, but he has hit up good scores m each engagement and has taken seventeen wickets at a cost 'of 14% runs each.:
