With these words, Detective-sergeant Kelly briefly outlined charges of alleged assault on a young girl, which were preferred against Gordon Roy Capel and William Gibson, two seventeen-year-old youths, when they appeared on remand before Mr. McKean, S.M., m the Police Court last week. •,, . . . The story of the alleged outrage is a revolting one. It is said that three youths approached the young girl while she was sitting under a tree on private property m Asgyle Street, and that Capel and Gibson brutally attacked her, leaving her lying unconscious. _ The third youth is thought to have taken no active part. Capel will be remembered as the youth who figured largely m a serious case a little over three months ago, when he was acquitted by the Supreme Court on a charge of serious assault on a fifteen-year-old girl m a lane off West Street, Newton. ... . , , , Both Capel and Gibson were awaiting their trial on a charge of breaking, entering and theft at the time of their arrest.
