Faulty Valves Cause
Engine Trouble
DURNED, warped, pitted, broken, galled and sticking valves result m hard starting, faulty compression, lack of power, poor acceleration, excessive gas consumption, lack of speed and an inclination of the car to buck at low speeds. If these troubles are evident, be sure to check the valves. Then examine carburettion and igni-'t-ion. They are sometimes to blame. Or sometimes it is a combination of all three.
TF a car is finished m paint and ■ varnish, do not allow mud to dry on it. Hose all the mud off while it is still damp, otherwise it. will leave an almost ineradicable mark.
TO check.'- rear axle housing on your car when .it appears to be sprung jack up rear end of car, fasten a lead pencil to a steady rest, turn wheels with pencil point against centre' of tread to get true wheel centre. Check distance between centre of tyres front and rear. If much variation is observed it is advisable to call upon a reliable repair man to straighten,
