NOT ALWAYS
Profits On Stable Following (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) There is generally a bit for W. Tomkinson, no matter where he travels. DUT because he generally gets a trot D at a meeting it is not always that his ardent .supporters can show a profit. . Taking his doings this term at Alexandra Park at the meetings he attended. By following each of his competitors bettors would be over .-, a' "fiver" shy when it came to totting up the cash. By investing a pound note each time this astute merchant took either trotter or pacer to the post . twenty-six of the brightest and best were outlayed. The return from the pay-out windows amounted to £20/15/6, a deficiency of £5/4/6. Of course, £3/18/- of this went m totalisator taxation, but even without that tacked oh to the investor a loss would still.be experienced. Admittedly ' Tomkinson gets a great innings, but not always do his supporters cash up on the right side of the ledger at the. conclusion of a gathering.
