In the South Island, trotting as the popular sport, is gradually taking the place of racing. Why? Because the officials of most of the clubs realize that enterprise is the soul of success. At the Metropolitan, Canterbury Park and New Brightonmeetings the patron is made as comfortable as possible. and no obstacle is placed, m .the way of his enjoying the sport. Admission is within the limits of the pu/.\se oi: almost anyone, and every now and again improvements are effected as more space is required. '? But at these three meetings there is just one thing missing. It is the electric tote. When this arrives punters will be m their own Garden of Eden. .
