INCOMPETENCE
And Drivers Do Not Worry (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) At various meetings of late, interference has been fairly common. TN/ one or two instances it certainly appeared- 1 as though it was intentional, but m others accidental. A lot of this can be put down to incompetency on the part of some of the present-day reinsmen who do their headpiece at a critical stage of the running. This is generally overlooked by the powers that be, but it should be just as punishable as any other offence. Some drivers make a habit of coming, away from the rails, and. when another competitor attempts to go up on the inner, they chop back quickly. This business has been noticeable on more than one occasion m the north, the offender getting away with it.. The shortest way home is , the straightest, and stipendiary stewards would do well to instil this into some of . the wayward drivers.
