Broad Vision
AMERICA is the land of the younger t\ generation. We se^e the unmistakable signs of that "always youthful" spirit wherever we travel through the United States, or whenever we are privileged to' meet the more enlightened examples of their citizenry as they pass through New Zealand
Some of us marvel at the facility with which American y o ungsters clamber up and over the ladder upon whose upper rungs wafts the p.l eas a n t atmosphere of success, but when one comes to analyse the character of the climber, the problem is reduced
to the simple theory of "Work hard, and then — harder." L. M. Rumely — he .looks at you at this moment — is vice-president and general manager of the export division of General Motors Corporation, and he's youthful. Years" ago he forsook wishing for working— his- status appendices should be sufficient to tell you that. Rumely is making a trip through New Zealand at the present time. May his sojourn m our country produce the spirit of mutual esteem and good ; fellowship.
