Although the artist has depicted General Railways Manager Sterling playing trains, his job is no child's play, and he knows it. In common with high railways executive officers the world over, H.H.S. realizes that to make railways pay m the face of motor, transport competition /is a Herculean task. Yet, he is undaunted. He is confident of his ability to lift the railways out of the slough of despond into which they have fallen, m time, and is working hard m the lifting process. If he succeeds, he will be a Sterling officer, indeed.
