Giant Jasper

DOWN^South Otago way 'midst the sheep and sou'westers lives a man whose towering presence makes one think how the gods must glory m the sight of one such splendid specimen of their handiwork. Six feet three of proportionately well-built Jasper Clark, and it's all MAN. One cannot but admire his stalwart figure, and more so on account of the age it carries with it, for Jasper is no chicken. Strange it is how some men make light of the burden of years! Erect, sprightly of step and alert, Clark's carriage would belie his own birth-certift-.cate. All one can conclude is that he stows his contract 'with Father Time beneath his own grey whiskers. Known the length and breadth of South Otago, Jasper is as big m heart and large m principle as the huge frame which holds his strong and uprighteous personality. The poet once said that every man born was for the public's good and J. Clark's activities m public affairs ' is a grand exemplification. ,
