Aftermath of The Holiday (From "N.Z. Truth's" Christchurch Rep.) There will be a chance at Wai- , rio on Saturday for the horses that missed on the holiday to pick up a bit of stake money. THERE should be a fair class field 1 for the Gold Cup m which Queen Balboa and Bilbo have the best credentials on recent running. There will be a big field of unknown quantity m the Ohai Maiden. Some Signal looks equal to the class, and West Dome was showing up on the holiday circuit. Battle Maid and Money Mint should be too. well seasoned for the lot m the Woodlaw Hack Handicap. The first steeplechase of the season will be decided at this meeting, and Cassels and Calibration should run well. Red Boa is an improving hack, and should be suited by the weight m the Wairaki Handicap, m which Insolence is also given a chance, even with the top weight. Apache is a solid miler, and m good form, . but if Tardy is reserved for this race he should be prominent, as he won over ten furlongs, at Wingatui.
