WAS ON THE MAT
McCarten's Explanation Accepted (By Cable.— From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Sydney Rep.) Maurice McCarten (ex- New Zealand jockey), T. C. Trautwein (owner), and F. T. Cush (trainer) were ; haled before the stewards' over the running of Lady Woodville at Warwick Farm. THE inquiry was adjourned until *■ Monday when the explanation was accepted. The position looked very; doubtful, as Lady Wdodville blew out m the betting and ran wide at the turn. After a long run of bad luck Dick O'Donnell won the Maiden at Warwick Farm with Lindberg, which is likely, to land more. Lindberg was backed for a small fortune and cantered home. Millionaire owner John Brown, the Newcastle coal magnate, has had another row with his trainer.' This time it is with I. H. Andrews, ablg team of horses leaving his stables last Monday. Brown's new trainer has' not yet been announced. Previous trainers include the late Joe Burton, Jim Barden, Frank Marsden and Frank McGrath.
