Racing Not Dead
IS racing m England dead? The answer, to anyone who has read the records of the recent yearling sales at Doncaster, must be m the negative. All through the past summer, there were people who laid it down m no uncertain terms that horse racing, beset with more modern sports as greyhound racing, and dirt track cycling, must consent to take a back seat. The people who provide the horseflesh for the public to bet on do not ;'
think so at any rate. They spent nearly half a million sterling m buying yearlings at the sales. — "N.Z. Truth's" London. Rep.
