Political Pal
■ i ■ ■ ■.' ' AN interested spectator at the opening of the Ttiouse of Representatives to hear the" umpire's decision —50-28— was the doyen of political organizers — Tom Lisle — who has been m the. thick of many campaigns dating back to the time when some of the present-day organizers were m swad-dling-clothes, and some of them unborn. .''■■" b He joined the Reform Party m January, 1914, and assisted the 'late W. F. Massey at the general election of that year and those of '1919 and 1922, besides, m the interim, numerous by-' elections. In 1925 he conducted the campaign m Invercargill for Sir Joseph Ward, and, from all accounts, as usual did his share of the work most efficiently. At the recent elections he was pleased to be merely a looker-on. In his time, Tom has seen many political changes. Acquainted with the electoral laws from A to Z, familiar with every move m. the political game, his knowledge of practically every electorate is known, unostentatiously, to have helped a lame dog over the style. ■ Tom's word commands the very highest respect, so it is" little wonder that he has multitudes of friends throughout the Dominion.
