Girl Animal

THERE has been reported recent- ' * !y a curious. case of atavism, m which a smaH girl now m the care of the Willesden Poor Law authorities, has reverted altogether to the wild state, and is at present an uncontrolled animal, who has to be kept m a cot with high bars to prevent her from crawling out,. and who tears to ribbons every piece of clothing that is put on her. In appearance she is a pretty and delightful child and the pic- 1 ture of health. Physically she is very powerful, but has very little brain. She cannot talk and acts like an animal walking round on all fours. She eats plenty of food. Her parents are respectable working people whose other children are quite normal. — From "N.Z. Truth's" London Rep.
