CHE lives m Auckland, and is quite a nice girl; .but, perhaps, on occasion she talks a little too much about the new car, the new house, the new diamond tiara, and so on;, all of which, to the disappointment of her lady friends, she is less ready to produce than to discuss. , ■■•• This time,- she was talking in^, high vein about her forthcoming trip to Monte Carlo; whereupon, angry passions rose m the breast -of a lady there present, who happened" to know that the trip would ; actually ; ' extend no further than, dreamy Honolulu. . ■ Still, one can't with 1 impunity call one's dear friend a prevaricator— so the listening lady ransacked her, brains for some way whereby she might sho.^v the much-travelled' maiden .that she was not going to "get aw.ay with: it." Finally/inspiration arrived. "Dearie," she cooed, "do, bring me back , some sha.ps!" ; ' . ' .
