WAIPA CUP
Four Are In The Big Race LAST OUTING
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) With an acceptance of eleven for the Waipa Cup, and at least four, likely Auckland Cup candidates to strip for action on Saturday, interest will be centred In the doings of the. northern brigade. TRANSFORMER Is on top of the han- * dicaps because he has proved himself the best horse of late. Still he is up- to some weight now, and, if he can win with 8.11, then they may go m and nibble, strong for him at a stone less In the big Ellerslie event. Desert Glow has a handy impost, and with Prodice to. aid him as a bracketed companion, the pair may be the favorite combine. Prodice was up fourth m a ninefurlong: event at Takapuna, ten days bacjt, and that race should, bring he* on a lot, while none of the trio which finished m front of her that day is In this week-end. Mint Leaf may find the track troublesome, but Papatu, though disappointing of late, has the chance of a fit horse. Siaosi cannot be counted but down near 7et., while Wenday is m a better class than usual, but Is In fine trim. The Lover takes a lot of riding for a light boy, but can go the distance. Eh Timi and Komak may be more suited down a grade. Considerable interest will centre m the showing of Tidal, and if he is absolutely clear from his late trouble he should certainly be one of those finishing on. The judge may have to decide between ... LOOMB'S BRACKET, SIAOSI.
