Well Done, Davies
PROMOTIONS ha,v« been the rule m 1 the Telegraph Department of late. And it is certainly gratifying to know that the men who really do the work are receiving the ' recognition which is their due. Among the lucky ones who have stepped up yet another rung on the ladder Is H. W. S. Davies, late telegraph supervisor at Hamilton, who has been transferred to Wellington m a similar capacity; but with this difference — he will have a job that will call for every ounce of the complete knowledge that is his. Governments may "wax and w sine. Young politicians may take their coats off and say they will get things done, and end up by rolling down their sleeves after doing nothing but saying the deuce of a lot. Yet, m the midst of all this turmoil, the Telegraph/ Department functions, unmoved, unruffled, simply because it is m the hands of men like Davies. Davies has worked himself up to his present position. And we are right m saying that he'll go a long way further.
