Waiting For Full Permission
CHARGED with sending, or causing to be sent, an indecent message, through the post, to a married woman who lives at Lower Hutt, Alexander von Batenburg (m his business as a clothing manufactory proprietor he styles himself "Baten") attended at the Wellington Police Court a few days ago. Lawyer Sievwright, who appeared for Batenburg, con-
tended that, as the police had not received permission from the Attorney-General, but merely the Solicitor-General, to proceed with the case, and because, m counsel's opinion, the alleged remarks were not indecent, an adjournment should be granted, ' Magistrate Page conceded an adjournment, but warned the solicitor that there was the possibility of the bench deciding against his contentions.. , Batenburg will again appear before the court on December 14. !llllllll!lllll!l!II!ll!llIIIIIIIIIII!!iIM
