A FORD FEAT
A standard two-seater Ford driven, by H. Alexander, of Edinburgh,' recently, accomplished the meritorious feat of climbing Ben Nevis, the highest peak m the British Isles, according to advice received . recently. : - . "THE weather was good, but even with perfect weather it seemed long odds against climbing the rock-strewn track. _■__ .. . '.^. ... vS . Despite these ' obstacles the car climbed steadily to a height of 3500 feet wherv'a piece of sheer bad luck caused a delay. The back axle atruck a huge boulder, arid' was so badly damaged as to necessitate another being fitted. This was done, and the climb, finished before 'sundown. ;As it "was too: dark to the car was left for the night.' By a coincidence it was left at the exact spot on the summit at "which a model T Ford completed a similar climb m 1911, but m 4% days instead of a few hours. This car was also piloted by H. Alexander.
