This was followed by a demonstration of strokes m which 'the schoolboys evinced a keen interest. The Canterbury Centre, through its coaching committee, is doing good work m extending its interests to embrace the southern end of trie province for m times of stress and strain, it has frequently to call on the country clubs for their best players. | In addition to hi's coaching, Newman will give a lecture ' to Christchurch cricketers before Christmas.
