THE MODERATES
Small Fry With Hopes In Early Races (By "The Toff.") Big maidens, lean 1 maidens and aH kinds of maiden pacers are engaged at Wellington. CEVERAL of them are known to. be good, and it is likely that one will be afraid of the other. Harold Lee has been tipped about a bit without scouring a win. He begins quickly and if he- is up to the average maiden he may give a bit of cheek on Saturday. But he will, have to be good to beat Hinkler. At Motukarara Lightfoot • went a decent race. B. Jarden also has a couple of maidens engaged m Olatrice and Lady Author. They promise to become useful sorts. ' . Baron Bingen, a brother to Great Bingen and Peter Bingen, is on the back mark. When the Wellingtonians get to work .they will make Hinkler, Lightfoot and Baron Bingen favorites. In the Nai Nai Handicap Hooper has Tot Logan, engaged. A victory for her has been long delayed, and Wellington may see her break the ice. Grey Way and Victor Bingen will be suited by the journey, so will Nancy Bingen. Probably Nancy Bingen will give most cheek, for she can begin fast -and' is an honest trotter.
