F. ("Tony") "Wood, manager of the De Luxe picture theatre, Wellington. "Tony's" main object m life now is a desire to please, and he accomplishes his purpose admirably. In fact, the main characteristic of this man of the films is a genial bonhomie which has resulted, throughout the four corners o f the land, m a wide circle of friends. H.F.W. is by no means a tyro m the entertainments sphere, for he has travelled extensi v c 1 y throughout Australia and New Zealand as a professional singer. He is the possessor of a pleasing tenor voice, and any old time there happens to be a call for volunteer singers, to help make a success of some charitable function, "Tony" is always ready with his services. He gives them ungrudgingly and m good measure. He is is, m conjunction with "Manny" Aarons, who has made the musical programmes of the De Luxe such a feature of the nightly entertainments. "Tony" often "hops m" with a musical and vocal prologue to a picture which is so often appreciated by the audience. Yes, his activities are directed m many channels.
