THE SECOND LEG A Will o' the Wisp Race May Be
(From "N.Z. : Truth's" Auckland Rep.) '' \ I Dual ' engagements are ever tying the picker "of i doubles: m a : knot and, the second ,: "leg" at Epsom on Saturday is no'exception to, the rule. ! ■ TWELVE remain . ,m the' ; Mussey '•*• Memorial Handicap and : half: that number have .previous engagements. The mile and a-quarter sprint contains the names of • several* hot-stuff fliers and it can be reckoned that provided conditions are. suitable there will be no loafing on the 1 - journey.' i Free Advice is engaged twice m the day, this being her second up, but that will not dismay' the -majority, and i if started, there will be a, -bundle iof money for her each time put. ■■ J Another is Taipare, • which • c£in scamper and see out a' journey into tne bargain. Dillon Huon, too, will be hitting out with him from post to post. Nelson Tasker and Wharepiana are frequently knocking at the door, and whenever they're not first home they are somewhere about. Golden Bubbles was a winner first day at Addington, but subsequently failed when asked a question on the two following occasions. Still, the bubble hasn't burst and Holmes' charge is due again. The Shrew, All Bell and AmariS may require racing to put them right. As m the chief event, Trainer Shaw holds a fist full of trumps, for it is understood that Jackie Audubon will be included m his team and that means a bracket of four m each heat. Such a combination will take all manner of beating, but if the inevitable happens it may be the merry tune will be played by Free Advice, Dillon Huon and Golden Bubbles. Invader Is Good C. S. DONALD drove a confident race i with Invader when the chestnut gelding Avon the Australasian Handicap m an airy manner from Dundas Boy, which was well placed all the way. It was the -first occasion that Invader has left the mark correctly. Once on the journey, his chance of winning was loudly proclaimed. The manner m which the son of Rey de Oro won points to him being a top -notch er later^ m the season. Mac Dillon and Sahib went a decent race, but Bankhead, which was favorite, jigged on the mark. Baynut was never prominent, and Harvest Child again disappointed his backers. Catering by Dustins, Ltd., is appreciated b"y the public. The executives of the various racing clubs and shows who have entrusted their catering to this reliable firm have been wise owls. Dustins, Ltd., have set a standard for catering m Taranaki, Hawkes Bay and Wellington provinces that cannot be surpassed.*
