On The Bit
THE Metropolitan Handicap at Addington was a falsely run , race. Chimer mis-cued at the start and Lingfield went to the front and slowed down the field, her colleagues being content to accept the pace set. All through Dundas Boy was pulling hard, being tucked m behind Lingfield, and not until the straight was reached did Dundas Boy offer serious battle to Lingfield. He had her beaten a furlong from home, and won easily from Lingfield, which faltered a hundred yards from home and "rabbited" for about sixty yards before she corrected her gait. She finished second, a big fancy , m Harvest Child filling third berth. • n!ll!!llllllllllll!llllll!llllllllllll!llllll!llllllllllllll!!lll!lllllllll!l!lllllllllll!llllllllllllll
