RUINOUS RUST

Wrecks Radiator

The radiators of some cars seem always to be smothered m rust , owing to water overflowing from . the radiator cap. THIS, of course, is due to a loosely- *■ fitting cap. A sure cure, and frequently the only one, is a 'properly-i. fitted lead washer. When fitting the -washer the lip of the cap' should be filed quite smooth with a .large ,file, and the inside of the cafa cleaned out to free it from any lumps of accumulated rust. A leather washer on top of the lead washer, with the cap well screwed down, will put , an end to the leakage. * When carrying out this job make sure that theyvent pipe is free, otherwise m case of the radiator boiling some of the .tubes might burst.

DULKY articles placed m the front P door pockets will bulge the pockets, preventing the closing, of the door. If doors. are -forced .they will spring the dobr hinges. .

THE veteran American racing driver, Ralph de Palma. made a successful "comeback" m a stock car race at Atlantic City •"recently; ■. driving a Mercedes to victory at over 96 m.p.h. The crowd gave him a' wonderful cheer at the* finish.
