HOCKIN'S HOSPITAL
IT is not every doctor who can boast of the fact that he was a fully-qualified practitioner at the age of 24, but such is the distinction that can be claimed by Dr. M.«M. Hockin, recently appointed medical superintendent of the Waikato, Hospital. His new 'appointment came when the doc. is still a youngster of 36, but youth is no indication of his skill, for Med.ico Hockin has managed to cram a wealth of experience into his make-up, not only m the Dominion, but m an
English war hospital and m France. ' On his return to the land of his birth, he flitted about a bit, putting m time at various hospitals, and finally! came to anchor as assistant medical superintendent of the Waikato Hospital. Just how successful he proved m that position has been revealed m the convincing vote of confidence passed by the hospital board m appointing him to the boss job out of eight applicants. There are no frills about the .d.oc. and no fussy mannerisms. He knows his job and gets on with it, quietly and efficiently. All things considered, the Waikato hospital board, m. appointing him, has shown Hamilton that its members decidedly know their onions. •
