Club decided to place the Takapuna and Wynyard Hack Plates on its pro- ' 'grammes, it did good work. , •THESE rich hack prizes — which also ■ carry a gold trophy-- are certainly worth winning, and it is no wonder that owners are found /who are adopting a waiting policy.

Not that there is any "pulling" of . horses -.in- minor events during the spring. ;

Rather it v is that promising hacks are either kept specially for competition at the Shore, or only enter.cd for stakemoney which is not sufficient to debar them from starting across the harbor.
