Turn Again, Robert
WHEN the late Tommy Taylor, M.P., discovered Robert W. Speirs as a
very jgmng man he stated publicly v that Speirs, who was then a lecturer on economics; and sociological problems, would one' day be a Minister of the Crown.
To-day Bob has taken the initial step m that direction by becoming a candidate under the aegis of the United Party for. Auckland West.
Bob was for some years a school inspector and he has also edited several journals. Before the ■ war he studied medicine, but left his studies to help make a little history m France.
He is too modest . to mention that fact, but his career there was a highly honorable one and Bob returned much the worse for wounds and gave up his medical studies for a journalistic career. •
One of the ablest speakers m New Zealand, Speirs has already attracted considerable attention m his electorate.
