Water Lads, Not Wine In A Car

TO hand two glasses of port Wine to the average man-aboutrtown, and then wait for results, would be just about 'akin to offering a strawberry to an elephant at meal-time. In this respect, it seems, Alexander Hugh Scott, of Dunedin, is not fully qualified for "about-town' ? status— unless it be that he knows of a cellar of rare old vintage! In which case he'd be wise m future to lock his motor-car safely away before partaking from the rich goblet. From week to week one hears of magistrates throughout the Dominion endeavoring to impress upon motorists the fact that the drivingseat is virtually a prohibition area. Yet some persist m taking the risk, the most recent Dunedinite so to. do being Alexander ;H ugh Scott, who pleaded guilty at the. city police court -the other day to being in-; toxicated m charge of a, motor-car. ; ;■;',.'.•• From what Senior.-.sergeant Quartermaintold. the court, it appears that Alec ran; into a bit of bad luck, when, at about 7 p.m. on September 15, he i collided, with a. car driven by one J.
