Waging War On Hooter Hogs
COME people seem to be gifted with a pestiferous liking for the use of . the horn oh all possible occasions. It is doubtful if anything^ more annoys another user, of the road more than a loud and unnecessary 'U>lare." In giving the^signal that one is about to overtake another car.a short toot only is necessary. When passing a cyclist or pedestrian, only the. faintest touch ori the, button is necessary, indicating to the overtaken party that a car is approaching, and not as a hint to get off the road. . There is no doubt that a good, deal of the hostility to motor-drivers that is displayed by pedestrians and other users of the road is caused by the totally unnecessary screeching of the "Klaxon." Only at points of danger is a loud and prolonged blast necessary. .
