TWO OF THEM
Being Nibbled At In Double
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) Ernie George usually manages to catch a race m the Waikato. LIE will be there again this week-end n with Mint Leaf and Oration after the same double which the pair gathered m last spring. Ernie left Ellerslie last week-end for Te Rapa, so his team should be fully accustomed to Te Rapa conditions when race-day arrives. As a matter of fact, punters have been nibbling continually all the week at the New Plymouth pair m the double on the "horses for courses" argument. Lady Quex, a member of the team at Avondale, was sent back home to race at Waverley, where she is expected to show up prominently on Labor Day. '•■■■■
The Maori Boy will have more than "Ehoa" following him m his coming starts. . : * * * • The Rangitikei 'Racing Club has authorized the expenditure of a fair aum on improving the stewards' stand and press-room — much-needed work.
