CCpHIS is the kindergarten baby. 1 She is the caretaker's little girl '■•'■-. ■ and was born here, so we. call her 'Wendy,' because this is really a Peter Pan movement," explained Miss Wilson, who. has recently come : from West Australia to take charge of the Taranaki Street (Wellington) free, kindergarten. "Wendy" is a flaxen -haired, greyeyed mite, who looks as healthy and happy as most of the forty babes who come daily to the '• kindergarten. Miss Wilson has found her new mission m splendid working order. She is a true Australian type, brown-eyed, dark-haired, slim and athletic; and m the city of Perth was m charge of the Kindergarten Union, which comprised seven free kindergartens. : ■ "I think ■ your children here are healthier, perhaps on ' account of the olimate or perhaps because of the splendid Plunket movement," she said. "Our. one idea is to link up with other bodies which take charge of children after they leave the Plunket stage and help to uplift them by taking them as far .as possible out of any : sordid atmosphere. . ; "We are teaching the children to love beauty. "Then they will work to have it m their after lives. . ..."
