At the Orari racecourse at Geraldine last week a few very promising young pacers sported silk. .THE -four, light-harness contests on *■ ;'. the Geraldine club's progratnme always attract a number of trotting fans to its gatherings. 'The meetings usually mark an entry of the new season's maiden performers, but often the rough state of the course brings about their undoing. Still; many benefit by the experience. . . Mountain • Ore won the Geraldine Trot, harness, of one mile and a-half, likfe a good one. \ . : Mountain Ore is .a five-year-old ( gelding by Rey de Oro froni Dot Pointer a mare by Logan Pointer. He was followed home by another good sort m Apex, which ran second to lone at Ashburton on September 22 last. Later iri the day at Geraldine, Apex won the Orari Handicap of one mile and a -quarter after a stern scrap with Wild Voyage, which broke. Wild Voyage is by Happy Voyage, from a' mare by Wildwood -. Junr .. Shei is a speedy pacer and a likely winner of a sprint event. But Apex is more' stoutly built arid should develop stamina. ."
