"SKIPPER" WINS
Importer Is Not' An / Impostor (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) It was freely predicted when "Skipper Ryari took to / training horses )he would prove a success if .given the material to work on.. AS yet, he has; not handled anything rt great, but. his patient tactics have told m his favor regarding the Eng» lish-bred Importer, Avhich accounted for. the important Pakuranga Hunt Cup: Steeplechase. . Ryan turned his charge out m great fettle. ' With the aid of the coming hurdle horseman, Sharkey, lie had the satisfaction of seeing Importer clear all his fences evenly, and eventually gain the honors. # x This was the second victory registered by Importer and it may not be the last, though he does not strike "N.Z. Truth" as being built to survive with too much weight. But he has the necessary pace and threatens to stay on all day. It is a genuine stayer which is required for steeplechasing, and Importer fills the bill m that direction.
